Particles
In Korean, a particle may change depending on the noun to which it is attached. One example is the subject particle, "Àº,´Â,ÀÌ,°¡ ".

EXAMPLE

%s is not that good.

If %s is replaced with a noun ending with Á¾¼º (i.e. ¹ÞħÀÌ ÀÖÀ½ ), then "Àº/ÀÌ" is used. Otherwise, "´Â/°¡" is used as follows:

´ç½ÅÀº ±×¸® ÁÁÁö ¾Ê¾Æ¿ä
±×ÀÌ´Â ±×¸® ÁÁÁö ¾Ê¾Æ¿ä

Since we do not know what will replace %s, use the following technique:

%sÀº(´Â) ±×¸® ÁÁÁö ¾Ê¾Æ¿ä

Here are additional examples:

- ÀÌ(°¡)
- À»(¸¦)
- °ú(¿Í)
- (À¸)·Î

Variables/Options Following Colons
Often, variables or options follow the colon.

For example, "Deleted directory:%s" may be translated as "»èÁ¦µÈ µð·ºÅ丮 :%s "

But, the following is much smoother if the space allows even though "´ÙÀ½Àº" is not in the source language:

´ÙÀ½Àº »èÁ¦µÈ µð·ºÅ丮ÀÔ´Ï´Ù :%s
